HIGH SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENTS: Served in every position in her school's Key Club and as lieutenant governor for the North Carolina and South Carolina District Key Club. Also served as vice president of Mu Alpha Theta, where her math skills proved invaluable and earned her a spot at the national conference.

FAVORITE CLASS AT CAROLINA: "Math 33, multivariable calculus. Professor Varchenko delineates things very well and really brings the subject to life."

CAROLINA BECAUSE: "I wanted to be close to home and to my parents, and I felt very comfortable here. Carolina gave me a familiar environment and eased the transition from high school to college."
