When I was in high school, I always used to tell my mother that I would
never go to UNC-Chapel Hill because it was that school, “where all the
North Carolina kids went.” I said that right up until my first visit
to Carolina during my junior year of high school.
After one day in Chapel Hill, I knew that I wanted to wear powder blue and
white. I knew Carolina was the place for me after sitting in Lenoir and talking
to current students about why they chose UNC. At Carolina, beyond the great
academics and wonderful sports teams, there are a ton of friendly, passionate
people who make campus come to life on a daily basis.
I am currently a sophomore majoring in political science and hopefully adding
a minor in Social Entrepreneurship. This summer I will be participating in
a Burch Field Research Seminar in
Vienna, Austria, and I’m currently
applying to study abroad next fall in Cape Town, South Africa.
On an average day at Carolina, I can usually be found running from class
to a meeting for one of the many student organizations I’m a part of,
sitting in the Pit talking to friends. or studying in the Student Union.
After
graduation, I’d like to apply to work with a program like Teach
for America or the Peace Corps before going to law school to study human
rights issues.
Since coming to Carolina, I’ve been heavily involved in student life
and I’ve worked with the some of the following organizations. Check
them out here!
