National Championship
When I enrolled at Carolina four years ago, I expected
UNC to have a chance at the national championship ever year. Growing
up as a Carolina fan I became accustomed to success on the basketball
court. Needless to say, my freshman year was a shock as Carolina
went 8-20. Thankfully, things have come full circle, however,
and Carolina is back on top. Going through some of the most turbulent
times in Carolina basketball history made the national championship
victory that much sweeter.
I celebrated by first watching the game with about 15 friends at a bar called
He's Not Here. Following the victory, me and 45,000 of my closest friends
rushed Franklin Street for the celebration. We were met with bonfires and
the happiest people you could possibly imagine. One of the greatest things
about a school with a strong sports team is that it unites the school. You
do not have to like basketball or football to feel the passion and the energy
on campus. The enthusiasm of school spirit is bound to overwhelm you.
