Summer plans
I must say that it is difficult
to write about my summer plans during exam week. All I want to do is
get out of the library and get the summer going. This summer has the
possibility of being my best ever. Never have I been so excited.
I am starting
out the summer by spending 18 days in Western Europe. I leave the
day after my last final for London. From there I will take a ferry
to Amsterdam. Essentially, I will be the typical American tourist
visiting as many cities as possible in a short period of time. After
Amsterdam, I will go to Munich and the Rhine Valley before visiting
Italy. While in Italy I will explore Rome, Florence, and the Vatican
City. I then head north to France before ultimately ending in Paris.
Throughout my time in Europe I will have the opportunity to visit
some of the most famous museums, buildings, and historical places
in the world.
Following
my trip to Europe, I will spend 5 days in my home city of Atlanta
before heading to New York City for an internship. I am working as
a summer investment banking analyst for Credit Suisse First Boston.
I will be in NYC for nearly 10 weeks and will live in NYU housing.
My internship will allow me the opportunity to experience the real
world and determine whether or not life as an investment banker is
for me. I have done most of the touristy activities in New York City,
but I am looking forward to life in the big city. Also, I want to
visit a Yankees game—despite being a huge Braves fan.
Well,
that’s
it for now. Hopefully, you have enjoyed reading my letters this year.
Take care,
Eric
