Growing up in the state of North Carolina, I knew that I wanted to go to
a college in the state and that I wanted to go to college at UNC- Chapel Hill.
My dad went here but I never felt any pressure about where I should attend
college. My parents allowed me to apply to anywhere I wanted, yet UNC had
taken a firm hold of my heart a long time ago.
Since I had grown up in the state, I went to UNC for various
events, such as football games and basketball games. I constantly got to hear
about the academic level at UNC. I saw others I knew go to UNC. Yet none
of that was what really pulled me to this place. It was the atmosphere that
I felt on campus. Yes, the campus is absolutely gorgeous (I can’t wait
for my first spring on campus), but there is also this indescribable feeling
in the air here. When you are on campus, you realize that something is happening
here. The students realize that while they are getting a top-of-the-line education,
there is so much more to do. That atmosphere is what pulled me to UNC.
So, now you know a little bit to my reasoning of why I am here, but who I
am? I am a member of the class of 2008, and currently I intend to be a business
major. I am also considering a double major with political science, but that
is not a definite. I enjoy sports, hiking, and reading (among other things).
I was the guy who was too involved in high school, so I’m taking things
at a slightly slower pace in college. I’m currently involved in college
republicans, campus crusade for Christ, and giving tours for the university.
I’m looking forward to 3 more full years at UNC!
