My Background

I'm Meg Austin, and I'm a sophomore classics and philosophy major from New Bern, NC. I'm pretty sure I want to go on to law school after I graduate, but right now I am loving undergrad life.

I'm on the varsity cross-country and track teams here, so I'm in season all three sports seasons (cross in the fall, indoor track in winter, outdoor track in spring). That keeps things pretty busy.

I'm a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority here, which is pretty fun — I like the girls in my sorority a lot, and it has been a good way to make some friends and get to know people.

I did a summer internship this summer with the APPLES program at a non-profit child advocacy law firm which was wonderful. last year, I also volunteered with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro school systems at Scroggs Elementary, which was great, but unfortunately I couldn't work it around my class and practice schedule this semester. I'm in the Honors program, and I'm a Davy and Coca-Cola scholar. My favorite class is currently a creative writing nonfiction course—it's fantastic!!
