TAR HEELS TALK: NAITE

My Background

“Real Knowledge is to know the extent of one’s ignorance.” Whew, I wish I’d known that around this time last year. Actually I did, I just didn’t use it to the best of my ability. My name is Nathan “Naite” Alexander, and I’m here to tell you a little about who I am and what I do – hopefully it will help you in some way, shape, or form. Smile.

I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC, although I graduated from a small school in the not-so-small city of Monroe, NC. Choosing to come to college isn’t that hard of a decision’ it’s the college you choose that makes it hard. And boy I’m glad I chose Carolina! I am majoring in Mathematics and planning to minor in Sociology. I want to become another underpaid high school mathematics teacher one day. Why? Well, “Naite loves the kids!” I enjoy interacting with others and what better way to do so than in a high school.

As a first-year student, I truly can say that Carolina opens your eyes to so many different things, different people, and many different levels of thinking. This is not such a surprise to me since I attended a very diverse high school; however, there is still much to be learned here.

While in high school, I was the member of four varsity sport teams (Swimming and Diving, Track and Field, Men’s and Women’s tennis). I was also the president of various clubs and organizations, and a big contributor to my community--something I hope you all are! Well, this is my profile. So, here is a little bit more about me.

I love to perform, in particular dance, and play tennis. I am an optimist who believes that everyone in this world has some good inside of them. I enjoy long walks on the beach, conversational dinners, and reflection time – No really, I do! I talk and talk and talk and talk and then I talk some more. I am a DEAT – Dominant Extrovert Abstract Thinker/Talker, and I love it. However, I always remember that I can’t be in control of each and every situation or always express how I feel in a blunt manner – tact is a must. You have to always think before you speak. And boy, do I love philosophical quotes. They drive my life sometimes.

I hope you take much from our pages and really consider applying to Carolina…it’s a great place to study, eat, sleep, and PARTY! But please remember “Real Knowledge is to know the extent of one’s ignorance”; so, come back and see our profiles…Adios! ?
