My
Background
Since
I come from Buffalo, New York, I love almost all things Buffalo—snow,
hockey, the Bills, Lake Erie—but I have definitely fallen
in love with the state of North Carolina over the past year. The
weather, the people, and the cultural, academic, and recreational
opportunities that exist on and off campus were just what I was
looking for in a college town/region. I went to a very small high
school (I graduated in a class of 37), and I had never really been
away from home before coming to college, so Carolina has been a
welcome change and an exciting adventure thus far.
I have
always had it in the back of my mind that I would like to teach
at the high school level and then possibly move into some sort of
administrative position at that school. Those plans do not exactly
allow for the selection of a career focused major, but as it stands
right now, I'm a double major in Spanish and Political Science with
the idea that I might go to law school eventually. Hopefully, a
year from now, I'll be studying in Spain with the UNC program in
Seville.
On
campus, I'm a member of a sorority, a campus tour guide, and I'm
just getting started with the Big Buddy Program through the Campus
Y. In my free time, I like to run (this campus is great for outdoor
exercise!), read beach books, and hang out with friends.
