VISITING CAROLINA : CLASS VISITS
Carolina Professor Each semester, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions works with faculty to pull together a sampling of diverse classes that prospective students can visit. We think you will find these classes welcoming and dynamic – giving you a good glimpse of academic life at Carolina.

When submitting your request, please make sure that the class that you would like to attend is offered on the day you plan to visit. While class visits are open to prospective students only, family members are welcome to tour the campus while the class is in session.

Once you have chosen your class, simply email your class visit request to classvisit@unc.edu. In your email, please include the following information:

  • your name
  • phone number
  • mailing address
  • the name and number of the class you wish to visit (including the section number)
  • the date you plan to visit
  • the number of people in your party

In order to prepare for your arrival and welcome you properly, we ask that you submit your class visit request at least 5 working days prior to your visit.

Once you email your request, we will email you a confirmation within three days, and you’re ready to attend class at Carolina! If you do not receive confirmation for your class, please call our tours desk at (919) 843-9799.

Due to the popularity of the class visit program and limited space in some classes, we respectfully ask prospective students to choose no more than two classes. This will allow more visitors to participate in the program. Please plan to stay for the entire class period as a courtesy to both the students and professor.

Please note: While we welcome large groups for tours and information sessions, please be aware that out of respect for our faculty and current students, our class visit program is designed to accommodate visits by individual students.

Class visits are not available during school holidays: March 10 - 15 (Spring Break) and March 21. To not interfere with exam preparation, class visits end Friday, April 18 for the spring semester.
